Are Owners in Gated Communities Satisfied?

Owners of Hilton Head gated communities real estate receive a variety of services.  Do these owners think that the services that they receive are worth the money they pay?  Are they happy with their Homeowners Associations? 

The Board of Directors of Indigo Run, a gated golf community on HIlton Head Island, wanted to know.  In May of this year they asked the Indigo Run owners to complete a survey with a variety of multiple choice and open-ended questions.  The Board’s goal was to measure the owners’ satisfaction and to request suggestions for improvements.    

38% of all owners responded and the owners said that they are very satisfied with the services they receive.  Owners rated Indigo Run Security highest of all services they receive but owners rated high the care of their common areas and landscaping, their Community Owners Association and the way that the community’s rules and regulations are enforced.   The results have been given on the Indigo Run Community website.  Here are some of the survey’s questions and answers.  

Indigo Run Owners Rate Their Association’s Services

Q: Considering the annual assesment you pay, how would you rate the services you receive from your Community Owners Association? A:  Consistently exceeds expecations: 10%; Consistently meets expectations: 73%; Meets expectations some of the time: 16%; Unsatisfactory: 1%

Indigo Run Security 

Q: How would you assess Indigo Run’s Security operations considering the quality of services provided, officer professionalism, appearnace, courtesy, attitudes, etc?   A.: Consistently exceeds expections: 55%; Consistently meets expectations: 41%; Meets expectations some of the time: 3%; Unsatisfactory: 1%.

  Enforcement of the Community’s Bylaws, Rules and Regulations

Q: How satisfied are you with our community’s efforts to enforce its covenants, bylaws, and rules & regulations, including: speed limits, maintenance of individual developed and undeveloped properties, common properties, nuisances etc? A:  Consistently exceeds expectations: 12%; Consistently meets expectations: 65%; Meets expectations some of the time: 20%;  Unsatisfactory: 3%.

Indigo Run Common Areas   

Q: How would you assess the appearance of the Indigo Run common  areas including: Roads, Islands, Entrances, Landscaping, 278 Entrance, Indigo Hall, etc.? A: Consistently exceeds expectations: 14%; Consistently meets expectations: 67%; Meets expectations some of the time: 17%; nsatisfactory: 2%.

Q: Do you believe our new website adds significant value to the services provided by Indigo Run Community Owners Association?  A:  Strongly agree: 16%; Agree: 43%: I have yeet to use the website: 35%; Disagree: 5%; Strongly disagree: 1%.

 Owners Compare Indigo Run to Other Gated Communities on Hilton Head Island  

Q:  All things considererd, how would you rank Indigo Run compared to other gated communities on the Island? A:  Number 1: 18%; In the top quartile: 68%; In the middle: 13%; In the lower half: 1%.

 

The Indigo Run Lecture Series

Indigo Run were asked if they wanted their lecture series continued.  Owners answered:  Yes: 49%; No 3.8%; No opinion: 49%.  Owners said that they favor quarterly lectures about special subjects and situations.
