A primary focus of this blog is the planned and gated communities for which Hilton Head Island is famous.  This includes clubs, recreational amenities, homes and their architecture and a variety of topics related to Hilton Head real estate.  The editor and principal writer of this blog,  Richard Kadesch is the Gated Community Specialist ® and the Owner and Broker-in-Charge of Go Gated Realty ® on Hilton Head Island.      

Brief personal information about Richard is that he is a 1972 graduate of Colgate University of Hamilton New York.  He earned 5 varsity letters there in tennis and soccer and was the school’s number one tennis player in singles and doubles as well as Tennis Team Captain in 1972.   When he accepted that he could not make a living playing tennis, he came to Hilton Head Island in 1974 as a licenced South Carolina Home builder.  In 1976 he began the real estate agency that he still manages to this day.  He is 57 years old and lives with his wife Linda in Indigo Run, a Jack Nicklaus golf community on Hilton Head Island.  They designed and built their house and were married in the living room when it was finished in 2002.  Richard plays golf on weekends with a 12 handicap.
